back in may, i mentioned that the hart clan spent memorial day weekend in iowa. the days mainly consisted of spending time with my aunt and her family, but we stole away for a few hours to take a quick field trip to maquoketa caves state park.
it was disappointing to find out the caves are currently closed to stop the spread of white-nose syndrome in the bat population, but we were able to walk the trails and do a bit of exploring in the immense mouth of dancehall cave, which was great for our littles.
this was a gorgeous afternoon just hours after a huge storm had rolled through the quad cities.
these next two shots were taken by luca and gia respectively. :)
oh would i love to make it back here once the caves are reopened. it would be especially great when the kiddos are a bit older, too. if you are ever in the area or live close enough to make the drive, i highly recommend this beautiful state park.
so truly in awe of His creation. . .
