for those who have asked. . .
step one: paint a section of your wall with several coats of chalkboard paint. let it cure for a couple days.
step two: purchase secondhand wood trim from the local architectural salvage warehouse. cut four pieces (with mitered ends) to size. (remember, measure twice, cut once!)
step three: paint if desired. (ours were done with leftover benjamin moore mexicali turquoise.) or skip to step four.
step four: nail to wall around your painted chalboard.
voila!
