twas the night before christmas 2012
a peace settled over this casita late on christmas eve and i just wanted to soak it in before bed. my heart felt fully here.
there is power in the making of new memories. each one sends down a root, even if you're still struggling with commitment.
the i-don't-wanna-do-this is quieted.
there was that thrill of Hope. my weary heart rejoiced. this soul sang with thankfulness.
i miss the glow of advent candles and twinkle of tree lights.
so let me close my eyes and be comforted by these new roots.

advent snapshots (days 1-8)
just a glimpse of our first week of advent 2012 through instagram and iphone photos. (i am @annaleahart over there.) the big event had to be the surprise delivery of our new (used) piano! this is our family gift for this christmas. decorating the tree, pony rides and dinner with friends, buying gifts for our church's christmas store, the holiday stroll in old town albuquerque, and a special brunch with new/old friends (and meeting this lady!) rounded out our week with such festivity that being away from illinois was not as difficult.
making memories here helps it feel like home.
