we just returned from the "land of God" - camp manitoumi in lowpoint, illinois. this past weekend marked my 10th year attending the annual fall retreat for church. the weather was so mild - downright hot yesterday. i am not a big fan of these high temps in the fall - i crave the cooler breezes while the warm sun hits my face. i love wearing sweaters and jeans and scarves and boots. oh well, tank tops and cropped pants and flip flops were much more in order.
jesse and i were pretty exhausted by the end of the weekend - luca continued his moody streak and tacked on a major screaming, throwing tantrum for good measure. gia was up most of saturday night teething and her mobility mixed with the desire to put every rock, leaf, and acorn in her mouth kept us busy and vigilant.
don't think we did not enjoy ourselves, though. here are the highlights of the weekend:
- listening to the wind roar through the pine needles at night
- playin' and hangin' with uncle cameron who came with his small group
- watching luca and a gang of little boys run, dance, explore, and imitate each other
- meeting so many new people
- hearing vulnerable, powerful, and insightful teachings
- worshipping God through music with our brothers and sisters
- letting gia eat soft solid foods for the first time

Hi! I love reading your blogs! I found your link while reading Rebecca's. We also have a 2 year old and a 6 month old-both boys. I can relate to sooo much of what you say! I don't know if you remember us, but we went to Cornerstone a couple years ago. Leah Lyons:)
Your kids are adorable!!
