My hubby was notified recently that his employer has chosen to change their pay schedule, so much that it will drastically change our day to day financial decisions. For a homeschooling family with one income, choosing joy isn't a choice it's a life vest. We have to remain joyful that unlike so many Americans we have a roof over our heads, food to eat, and clothes to wear and that doesn't even touch on luxuries. God is here, holding our hands, carrying us through this season and remaining true to His promise that, "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." {Matthew 11:30}

Right where it is everyday, my daughter...only in an unsuspecting manner. Last month we attended a Model Search Competition and as to be expected there was a huge opportunity to speak character into her little heart. It was a learning curve to speak on such a weighty issue without being prepared {call me a naive Momma}.  We did a delicate dance around modesty without fully delving into judgment. We touched on encouragement of others. I was gifted an amazing opportunity to affirm the beauty of who God called her to be from the inside out. "Let the king be enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord." {Psalm 45:11}

Motherhood is a hard calling. Some days I feel like I am right where I'm supposed to be. Others I feel like my kids are getting the raw end of the deal. Everyday good or bad, their faces are a reflection of me, of my heart. It stretches me to seek His face, his heart and place my value in Him.
