puppy love

one of luca's besties is turning five this week and today was the puppy party to celebrate.  we spent the afternoon eating pawprint cupcakes, dressing up with floppy ear headbands and ribbon collars, and adopting stuffed animal puppies (and a kitty for gia).  well, my kiddos actually chose not to wear ears and collars, but they had fun, nonetheless.  enzo even did his best at perfecting a puppy drooling.


luca wanted to give isaiah a puppy shirt and we sewed it up this morning before the party.  luca tried it on for our photo shoot and was so excited with the finished product, he could barely stand still. i made a small mistake while sewing up the pug (luca's choice) and the t-shirt was marred under the applique.  when trying to decide what to cover it with, luca asked for a heart.  why?

because i love isaiah, and hearts stand for love.  but i don't love him as much as you, mama.  that's why i draw you lots of hearts.  i love you to the moon and the sun and stars and back to my heart.  that is a lot.  i only love isaiah to the moon and back.  but that is still a lot too.  but just not as much as you.
