how to make upcycled leg warmers
did i mention it was cold around here? well, it is. i think the thermometer registered 13 degrees on our way to ballet today. good thing i whipped up a pair of super cute leg warmers for gia last week.
and when i say whipped up, i mean they took less than an hour. plus they cost me nothing.
i scored a bag of wool sweaters off of freecycle last winter. i was so happy when i saw this orangish-pink one. it is so pretty and has a great thick weight to it. i finally got the nerve to cut into it.
here is how to make an upcycled pair of legwarmers:
i added a bit of elastic under the fold before sewing up the top. this was to help the knit keep its shape and for better hold on her adorable little leg.
um, look at that foot. love it.
for this dress and tights loving girl, leg warmers have become her new best friend. she wears them almost every day. gosh, they are cute.

Oh, these photo's are the greatest!
I wore pink ones, which my mum knitted herself, when I was a little ballet-girl.
Your daughter is adorable
