there was something very quietly magical about our home on christmas eve.
electric candles were glowing from each window.
the snow was falling thickly outside the walls, blanketing the world in white beauty.
the tree lights were twinkling and the branches were holding newly given ornaments.
paper wrapped packages from near and far were waiting for their loved recipients.
and one little wooden toy soldier was waiting for his new boy.
i think that magic had everything to do with Jesus and his arrival, much anticipated in our home. we had thrown open our doors and windows and hearts all month waiting for Him. and He had come.
